Why such long seasons?
Playball is a carefully created sports and movement programme. Each "age group" has a curriculum: each lesson builds upon the previous skills. We want your child to reach a certain level of competence and we need at least 6 months to build up and refine their newly acquired skills.
General Terms & Conditions: Feb 2012 The Hague, NL
General: These conditions are applicable for registration and participation in Playball organised activities in The Hague. Payment of the Playball season fees and childrens’ attendance at Playball lessons confirms that parents are in agreement with and accept these terms and conditions.
Definitions:
Activities means all activities organised by Playball, such as lessons, coaching, parties, trainings and holiday camps.
Duration and Division of Classes:
Playball lessons are 45 minutes – delivered by a trained Playball coach or assistant coach. The “2 can Do!” classes are 35-40 minutes.
Classes are allocated according to availability, age and (or) level of competence.
CLOTHES & FOOTWARE:
Please dress your child for action and their Playball t-shirt.
No denim jeans or skirts permitted, (only sports-skirts) allowed. Leggings are perfect. You would not wear jeans to ballet, football, nor hockey lessons!!!
Your registered child will receive a Playball T-shirt at registration to wear at lessons as a uniform. This is compulsory. For the summer outside Playball, please let your child wear a peak cap. Please bring a child-friendly (sport lid) water bottle to every lesson!
Children must wear sports shoes (no bare feet allowed) with non-marking soles (ideally white soles). The Sports Club has mentioned that only non-marking soles are allowed on the squash court. “Gym-schoenen” are basic but fine and can be found for €6 at van Haren shoe shop.
LESSONS
It is important that your children don’t miss any Playball lessons. Each Playball lesson is a part of a yearly curriculum designed by sports-scientists, coaches, teachers, physios and experts. Therefore, each lesson builds upon the previous lessons and you will see your stars gain competence and confidence in their new ball skills.
The season goes through to July 2012. At Playball we have a PROGRAMME and an age-specific curriculum so we need to build up your star’s skill set over time, lesson by lesson.
Missed lessons:
If your child is sick or away on vacation, please let us know as soon as possible. You will not be refunded for this missed lesson. There may be a chance to fit your child into another lesson in their age group. Again, this will only apply if you call / sms / email Playball to inform us of your child’s absence.
Cost for the Playball Season
The cost for the Jan - July season is unchanged at €13 per lesson.
New Playballers should add €20 for first time registration (or bring €20 cash in an envelope labelled with your child’s name). New Playballers will receive a new Playball shirt in February to wear as a uniform each lesson. Re-registration for your Playball stars is free.
Bank Details:
Please deposit your child’s fees into Rabobank, SPR Robertson-Carte, 146765230, Den Haag. Use your child’s name as a reference. Cash in an envelope with your child’s name is also acceptable. Payment will be confirmed with an email.
Cancellation
Playball will not refund fees once your child has been registered and allocated to a group. In exceptional circumstances, this can be negotiated.
If, due to exceptional or unforeseen circumstances, the Playball lesson must be cancelled by the coach, there will be a “catch up” lesson offered to replace that lesson. This will be communicated in advance via e-mail.
STAY OR GO?
The 2 year olds have parents participating in the lesson. However, from 3yrs children are happy to be left alone. For first time Playballers, we are very happy to let parents come into the lesson / onto the court and participate until the child is settled and happily detached.
For some children, having parents watching them from the side of the court works magic for their confidence and performance. For others, they behave VERY differently. For these children it may be better when parents are OUT of SIGHT. They display more focus, enthusiasm and engagement and participate better.
Each child is different. Please feel free to discuss it with your coach. But, keep in mind, it may be better that they don’t see you. So be prepared to walk away and take a sneak peek to see your star in action.
Hands On:
The Playball Method of Coaching requires coaches to help children get into optimal body position for sports. Therefore, when necessary, we coaches will have to hold or move their hands, legs, hips, feet to move them into the “ready” position for sport. We do this to ensure a greater likelihood of a “success experience”. Please let us know immediately if this is a problem for you.
Liability
Participation in Playball’s organised activities is done at one’s own risk. Playball is not responsible / liable for any theft, damage (direct / indirect) or personal damage or injury or death caused by / related to a child’s participation in a Playball activity / ies, howsoever caused. Children must behave correctly, co-operate and follow the coach’s instructions. If children do not behave correctly, they will be asked to sit on the step for 2 minutes, or, in extreme cases, they will be asked to leave the court. Any damage / injury caused to the sports club or persons will be the liability of the responsible individual. Playball does not insure your children.
